Our Mission

The mission of the Southern California Shakespeare Festival Guild (SCSFG) is to support and produce classical theatre across Southern California. The SCSFG is a classical professional repertory company dedicated to providing our Southern California community with a company of multicultural artists who reach our diverse audience through exciting works on stage and film.  Nurturing professional artists and the training of student-artists is at the heart of the mission of the SCSFG.  Through our work, the SCSFG endeavors to explore the eternal human questions, seeking to enlighten and excite contemporary audiences with the timeless relevance of Shakespeare’s literature. The Southern California Shakespeare Festival Guild was established in 2015 as the touring branch of the Southern California Shakespeare Festival, with nine years of producing and presenting theatrical works. The SCSFG has hosted full-length productions, adapted plays, original plays, films, and virtual performances in theatres, parks, and community-based locations across Southern California.

SCSFG's inaugural production of "King John" in 2005 played to sold-out houses, as have our 11 consecutive seasons: "The Winter's Tale," "The Merry Wives of Windsor," "Twelfth Night," "Much Ado About Nothing," "Hamlet," "Richard The Third," "The Tempest," "Midsummer Night's Dream," "Julius Caesar" “Macbeth", "As You Like It" and most recently  "Comedy of Errors", “Romeo and Juliet”. Since our 11th season, we have enjoyed wonderful collaborations with both the Pomona community and the School for Arts and Enterprise (SAE), with performances at the SAE in downtown Pomona and the Mayfield Senior School for Girls in Pasadena.

Student artists joined SCSFG from IPoly High School, SAE, Mayfield, and Diamond Ranch High School.
